In the past 3 weeks, the site has received 300,000 visitors with now 437 people finding an Angel. We thank all of you. Now, if you have posted and not received any response please know that not everyone finds help obviously. But please check this... Look over your current posting. Has it been up for a while and is down a ways on the list? Is your posting heartfelt? This is important. While we don't ask you to compose a masterpiece, your posting must have some heart and soul in it. People need to feel your posting. The more heartfelt the posting, the greater the chance of receiving help. If you are not satisfied with your posting, please register again, get a new posting number and then create a posting you are happy with.

Christmas Preparedness...
Many people are already posting requests for help with Christmas items.
This is fine, but keep in mind that by the time families are looking for families to adopt for Christmas, the posting placed in September will have moved way down the list. Down where people usually stop looking.
Be patient and place your request at the beginning of December.
Better chance to find an Angel!

Scary Times.....
As I write this I am worried. I am the co-founder of 2Hands.org and last week I lost my job. 8 years with one employer and now I am adrift. The first couple of days were almost euphoric as my schedule was a rotating day shift/night shift - 12 hour shift beast. My euphoria, at not having to work the schedule was short lived. Reality set in. Like a tree falling on my back.
Like millions, we have no substantial savings. We lived paycheck to paycheck with the occasional extra bit which we usually spent on something we could have lived without.
The tree is so heavy. The last couple of nights I woke up drenched in sweat. Nightmares. Panic.
Children to feed. Animals to feed. A hungry gas tank on my truck and my wife's car. Bills!!
Do I post my need on 2Hands.org? Do I use my families creation to find help for myself and my family? It is May 30th, 2011. What are your thoughts on this?

2Hands and the National 211 System
2Hands is moving forward and sending applications to every states 211 resource.
We just received notice that we have been accepted and added to the state of Arizona's 211 system.
We have currently sent applications to Idaho and Florida.
Will keep everyone updated.

Changes have been implemented.
We thank everyone for their patience as the volunteers worked to create categories for people to post in that were specific to their need. This will make it much easier for people who want to help to find the kind of person in need they are willing to assist.
The changes have been made and the site is back to being normal. Semi-normal anyway.
Our registration page is a little different to. Now after you register you will receive an email that contains your posting number. This will be a valuable tool to be used as a reference in case people have forgotten their posting number.
We thank all the people that help spread the word each day. It means the world to us.

Even BIGGER Changes are on the way!
Based on continuing user requests, we are going to be defining 2Hands even more.
In the near future, people will be posting in very specific categories. Let's say that you have a young son who has a birthday approaching. When you request to post for help, you will be able to post a need directly into an area specifically for people asking for help with birthday presents.
The bigger bonus here is that people wanting to help will now be able to look for people they are specifically looking to help. Example: You are looking to help someone who needs help providing a birthday for their child, you will be able to very specifically look for people right in your area who are looking for help in this category.
Our intention is to make the task of finding someone to help easier. Currently, people have to sift through requests of all various types looking for the kind of request they are wanting to assist. It can be daunting when there are so many postings.
